Cupping is a therapeutic and health-promoting wellness practice:
1. Cupping helps to dispel wind and dampness while promoting the circulation of blood and unblocking the meridians, thereby serving to treat clinically relevant ailments or to maintain general health.
2. Cupping also offers benefits such as relaxing the body and mind, improving sleep quality, and alleviating fatigue.
3. Cupping is not suitable for everyone. It should be avoided by individuals suffering from blood disorders, heart disease, or skin conditions; by women who are menstruating or pregnant; and by those who have recently eaten a heavy meal or are under the influence of alcohol. It is also unsuitable for individuals with constitutions that are either excessively weak or excessively prone to internal heat. During the procedure, care must be taken to avoid burns and to apply moderate suction strength to prevent bruising. Furthermore, it is advisable to refrain from bathing on the day of the treatment to avoid exposure to cold.
